Performances and winners from MBC’s Lunar New Year special, “Idol Star 7080 Best Singer”

Earlier today, MBC aired it’s Lunar Year Special, “Idol Star 7080 Best Singer.” Various idols from 4minute, SHINee, Super Junior, miss A, MBLAQ, FT Island, f(x), Clazziquai, T-ara, ZE:A, Brown Eyed Girls, Sistar, After School and more got together for the show.

All the idol teams participated in a competition that would various awards, based on who gave the best cover of songs from the ’70s and ’80s.

Some of the winners include Super Junior’s Yesung won the “Hot Performance Award.” The Bronze awardwent to SHINee, the Silver award went to Sistar, and the Gold award to f(x)’s Luna and Clazziquai’s Alex. FT Island won the award for King Singer

A total of 200 people who purchase MBLAQ's 1st full album - Blaq
style will be chosen from Synnara Record Central and I-Park (100
people each from these two places)!!

Confirmation:At 02/11 11:00 pm, the chosen people will be notified through Synnara
Shopping Mall (www.synnara.co.kr).

Order of the event:People who are chosen will be given a number card, which allow
to participate in fan signing event after confirmation of chosen people, by the
order of arrival from 3:00pm at I-Park mall.
Prior to one hour from the start of fan signing event, everyone will be lined up
according to the order of number card (Please bring an album and ID).

Guideline and cautions*

- Participants of fan singing event must bring a purchased album and a number card.

- If a number card is copied or lost, it is impossible to participate in a fan signing event.
For a CD which is purchased for a fan signing event, is impossible to exchange
or refund.

- This event might have some changes or canceled without a prior notice depending on

The swimming gold medalist from the recent Gwangzhou Asian Games, Jung Darae, made a special appearance on MBC's 'Idol Swimming Championships'.

Jung Darae taught the idol stars the backstroke style during the recording of MBC 'Idol Swimming Championships' at the Gyeonggido Ilsan Swimming Arena on the 30th.

The 'Idol Swimming Championships' PD Kim Yugeon told the press on the 1st, "Jung Darae paid a short visit to the Gyeonggido Ilsan Swimming Arena during our filming. MBLAQ’s Lee Joon, who is participating in MBC’s New Year’s Special, “Idol Swimming and Track Championships“, has been gaining attention by cheering on 4minute’s Gayoon.

4minute’s maknae Sohyun tweeted on January 31st, “It seems a little forced but thank you for cheering~kk. I hope the current MBLAQ album is daebak kk. 4minute also fighting!”

MBLAQ’s Mir confesses he has a serious phobia of needles January 31, 2011

On a recent broadcast of SBS’s “Bae Ki Wan, Choi Young Ah & Jo Hyung Ki’s Good Morning”,MBLAQ’s Mir confessed that he has a serious case of Trypanophobia, or a phobia of needles.

Mir revealed, “I have a very serious case of needle phobia. There was a time when my left arm broke, and when I went to the hospital the nurse injected a needle more than 10 times but kept failing. I developed my needle phobia after that incident.”

Mir added that he makes a huge ruckus every time he goes to the hospital for an injection that his doctor vowed to never do it on him again.

Fellow member Seungho said, “I think he’s scared of anything pointy that makes contact with his body. He’s even scared of acupuncture.”

Idol stars G.O of MBLAQ, Hyorin of SISTAR, and INFINITE’s Sungkyu, recently stood on the stage ofKBS’s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’, where they sang solo covers of various veteran artist tracks.

With Yoo Hee Yeol himself directly being their piano accompanist, G.O performed Kim Gun Mo’s“Lingering Affection”, while Hyorin sang Park Hye Kyung’s “Confession“, and Sung Kyu covered “One Late Night in 1994″ by Jang Hye Jin.

Mothers of MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and Rainbow’s Jae Kyung scheme to get them together? January 28, 2011

In the most recent episode of “100 Points out of 100”, the mothers of MBLAQ’s Lee Joon andRainbow’s Jae Kyung shared their hopes for their idol-children’s future spouses. A potential candidate in Lee Joon’s mother’s eyes? It’s none other than Rainbow’s Jae Kyung!

When asked by the MCs if she could see Jae Kyung as a future daughter-in-law, Lee Joon’s mother warmly answered that “You can never guess what will happen with people,” and invited Jae Kyung to call. Likewise, Jae Kyung’s mother also seemed to approve of the match.

A crew member revealed, “In order to support MBLAQ’s first comeback stage and cheer on her brother Thunder, Sandara Park came to the studio with a basket of flowers.”

He added, “She’s always keeping an eye on MBLAQ’s stage, and it’s not hard to see the fondness she has for her brother.”

We’re sure she felt proud of him last night, as Thunder and his groupmates delivered a crisp performance!

Idols reveal their filial acts on MBC’s “Come to Play” January 4, 2011

A bevy of top idol groups made their appearance on MBC’s “Come to Play” today, and competed against each other to earn the title of ‘the most filial son/daughter.’

The episode focused on revealing the dutiful acts the idols have done for their parents and featured stars such as SNSD, Super Junior’s Lee Teuk and Yesung, B2ST’s Ki Kwang and Yoseob, andMBLAQ’s Lee Joon and Mir.

MBLAQ’s Mir, who’s known to be the son of a farming family, revealed that he bought his family four cows. He stated, “My family lives in the countryside, and the rivalry between the front and back house is quite strong. I wanted my dad to feel steady and confident. I was going to buy him two cows, but the house behind us bought three, so I bought him four.”
